Missiles launched from a US drone is likely the cause of death of 12 Taliban militants in Pakistan.

Robotic drone attacks are having an effect. The Taliban and Al-Qaeda has lost several key leaders in the last two months. I would expect to see a downturn in attacks in Afghanistan and a temporary increase in Pakistan as mobility of the militants is hampered.
