Facebook idiots endorse douchebag’s crime spree

Posted on Updated on

You probably know by now that the 19 year old Colton Harris Moore, otherwise known as the “Barefoot Bandit” was arrested yesterday in the Bahamas.

Disturbingly, the miscreant had 60,000 fans on Facebook. People have also had T-Shirts printed, promoting  Harris-Moore’s freedom. It is indicative of the downward spiral of our culture. That spiral looks like the water in a flushing toilet.

It’s pretty obvious why Harris-Moore chose a life of douchebaggery: His mommy thinks the world is being too hard on him. Quoting from the above-linked article:

“Harris-Moore’s mother, Pam Kohler, has said that he had a troubled childhood. His first conviction, for possession of stolen property, came at age 12. Within a few months of turning 13, he had three more.

Kohler has defended her son, saying the allegations against him are exaggerated. She previously told the AP that she hoped he would flee to a country that doesn’t have an extradition treaty with the United States.”

See, Mrs. Kohler, we have a name for your son, here in the military: Shitbag. Yes, that’s right, a bag of excrement. That’s a word for someone who has no honor, no code, no sense of right and wrong or duty. Just like your son. I’m sorry his father didn’t beat him enough. I’m sorry that his father was also a shitbag. But how are you helping in any way when you say you hope your son gets away with committing felonies? Please, go back to eating your government cheese and smoking 4 packs of Virginia Slims a day. Yes, I know. Film rights are in the works and you’ll probably make a bundle off your son’s idiocy. Such is the way of our world now. Being an idiot can make you famous and with fame comes money that the idiot didn’t have to work for. And with that money you can buy yet more cigarettes and malt liquor.

Actually, a bag of crap would do much less damage than your son has done, Mrs. Kohler. And yet, somehow you still believe the world owes him something. It does. It owes him a giant boot in the ass.

But this article isn’t written for Mrs. Kohler or for the Barefoot Bandit. It’s written for Harris-Moore’s 60,000 friends on Facebook. You are even worse than he is. I suspect, that in the deepest crevice of Harris-Moore’s dark heart, even he knows what he’s done is wrong. You on the other hand, think it’s a big joke. And for that, I do hope that every one of your houses is burglarized by a shitbag of Harris-Moore’s caliber.

I appreciated your take on this Barefoot Bandit and admit that as harsh as it is, I do agree with you. I followed his path as a source of amusement and something to ponder on my night off. However, a criminal is a criminal and it is a good thing that he’s been caught.

He will just break out of prison, probably too smart to be held for very long. You have to give him some credit, he taught himself to fly, and evaded arrest for a long time.

I guess you must hate pirate adventure stories too, since they are crooks. You probably hate Robin Hood also. And as for D.B Cooper, you must want his head on a plate considering how harshly you speak of criminals. Just because someone breaks a law doesn’t mean they have no moral code. Laws are not based on morality. Proof of that point is in our own history; laws protecting slavery, laws prohibiting voting rights for women, etc. So try not to go on some ‘holier-than-thou’ rant about law breakers and an a-moral lifestyle. You might as well try and argue that Atheists have no morals… it doesn’t make any sense.

So it is ok until he steals your car, boat, plane, cookies or Schwinn ten speed? How about if he came and stole your computer so you couldn’t put up such a silly post? Would you complain then even though we couldn’t read it?

    Ah yes, an anarchist:

Anarchist: Someone who would be dead in about three days if anarchy really took hold.

Robin Hood? Harris-Moore was stealing from the rich to give to the poor? Where’s Nottingham’s Sherrif here?

Guess what…there are lots of smart people out there. Most of them choose to not become criminals. So I don’t want to hear how smart he was. He wasted any smarts he had, if any at all. Who knows or who cares if he was smart. Seriously, a smart criminal–even though he’s in jail–as I consider it, would be someone like Bernie Madoff. But I’m glad that jackass is in jail, too.

As far as the pirate stories go, are we talking about story telling or people here? Heck, even the Harris–Moore escapade is a good story. I love stories. I read them all the time. Would I be a fan of Bartholomew Roberts on Facebook if he were around today? No, I’d hope that he got shot in the head by Navy SEAL snipers just like our recent Somali pirates.

I will agree that not all laws are based on morals and that not all morals have a coresponding law–but I will say that burglary and theft happen to be immoral and against the law in my humble opinion. If you don’t think so, would you mind if someone broke into your house and stole your copy of Rules For Radicals?

DB Cooper stole some money and disappeared. Great story. Not a nice person. I would heckle anyone who hoped he would get away with someone else’s earnings.

I’m a big believer that property is innately connected to freedom. If someone steals my property, they steal a piece of my liberty to own what I’ve earned. Thus they deserve to be arrested and jailed. Just like happened to our barefoot friend. See I was a scumbag thief when I was young. I’m not that person anymore. I have no honorable stories to tell you about my thieving. Just that I, like Harris–Moore, was a shitbag with no code. Then I got a code. I won’t explain further.

I doubt this kid will break out of prison… more like get his but broken in. He is a petty criminal that a bunch of immature kids looked up too. Jolly roger how can u compare this kid too db cooper or robin hood…. there nothing alike. This kid held people supposedly at gunpoint and ransacked their houses. Lets see how you feel when he breaks in your house. Jolly roger your coming off as ignorant and you make little to no sense. Harris had no moral values or he’d probaly have a real job making money instead of stealing from others. Stay in school kid and not like this idiot who will sit in jail for a decent time.

    Jolly Roger,

Don’t forget to use Woolite on your Che Guevara T shirt, or it may wear out prematurely.

Che was a true hero, like Robin Hood!

Killing and stealing proves a person is pure of heart.

Rage against the machine! And smoke two joints, too…

Well, you’ve probably heard, and I just blogged about it tonight, Harris-Moore pled guilty to seven federal charges and will be sentenced October 28th. The media is reporting that he will serve “up to 6 1/2 years.”

Harris-Moore still has to answer for his crimes in Island County and San Juan County. The prosecutors there chose to bring him back to him home turf to answer for his crimes rather than participating in the plea bargain like everyone else. So he could still be sentenced to additional time, but chances are he’ll get to serve both sentences concurrently.
