And this is how it ends

This Wall Street Journal article shows that tax increases won’t decrease the deficit. Why? Because history shows us that the government merely spends every extra cent they get from us. This is how this nation will collapse. And we keep on doing it to ourselves. We elected the worst spender in American history.

Say what you want, Magus, but this “spender” we elected has guaranteed that I will have a plush new office that I don’t need (and didn’t ask for – even asked NOT to have), to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars, even though my present office, at no cost to the U.S. taxpayer, is working fine.

He has guaranteed that we will hire a couple of support people we don’t need, to make my job easier, even though I have grown accustomed to doing the extra work myself. I could sustain for ten years without support people, but they want to employ more people…

He has made sure that we have 3 of 4 vehicles that are gigantic V-8 gas hogs (purchased from the subsidized General Motors), even though our office could function wit 4 Toyota Priuses. The fourth vehicle is a luxurious V-6 that gets a thrifty 22mpg, way better than the 12mpg the big V-8s are racking up.

But since the gas comes from the U.S. taxpayer, who really cares? It really wouldn’t matter if they got less than 1mpg, like the M-1 Abrams pictured above!

I voted for him, but I also was glad to jump out of a failing private sector into a G that doesn’t seem willing or able to explain what it does to the taxpayer.

Good for me, but too bad for the taxpayer.

So, I wonder what that million dollar office will look like? I ought to get into my 12mpg vehicle and go see…

Good for you until there are no more taxpayers.
